The IsiXhosa Research Term List consists of isiXhosa research terms, where they are used in research studies, and brief explanations. Each term is paralleled with its English equivalent for easy access. This list synthesises research terms used in isiXhosa theses and dissertations from 2013, and it expands from a research terms list in a paper I published in the South African Journal of African Languages. The purpose of this list is to support first-time and seasoned researchers who are planning to write their dissertations and theses in isiXhosa. In addition, it is to promote isiXhosa as a research language. Furthermore, it is to invite isiXhosa scholars to critique, revise and expand this list, ensuring consistency, which will lead to standardisation.
